With
LOANS! For .Net
and
other BGI applications, you receive the following set of sub-systems at
no additional cost:
Workflow ManagementWorkflow
Management
This
sub-system provides management tools for recording, sequencing, and
tracking your organization’s workflow items. These include the
following:
·
The
recording of events that may occur during your organization’s daily
operations, such as new loan disbursements.
·
The
setup, sequencing, and scheduling of any actions required.
·
The
notification to the appropriate people and groups whenever these events
occur via online query, report, or other methods.
·
And
the tracking of these required actions to ensure that they are
completed.
·
In
addition to supporting manual workflow items, LOANS! also provides a way
to generate items automatically using a new concept called Action
Queues.
Action
Queues
Setting up Action Queues is as easy as selecting fields in a report
writer.
First you define the rules for your action queue:
·
Select the fields and rules to be used to identify those loans that
should be put into a queue (e.g. all loans that have a due date that is
more than 30 days delinquent.
·
Select the person or people to be notified when a loan is first added to
a queue.
·
Optionally select the action that the person responsible for the queue
should take and within how many days that action should be taken.
Once
you’ve defined the rules for however many queues you wish, you can run a
process that will scan your database as often as you wish, review the
rules in each of your action queues, and identify those loans or other
system entities that meet them.
·
For
each of these conditions, a workflow item is generated and linked to the
appropriate individuals for workouts, monitoring, etc.
·
An
almost unlimited number of conditions can be monitored in the same
manner (e.g. expiring policies, overdue inspections, etc.).
All
BGI applications also offer a checklist feature in which you can set up
standard checklists, link them to a loan or other system entity, and
then have workflow items automatically generated for each item on the
list.
Contact Management
This
sub-system allows you to maintain an on-line reference of all contacts
associated with a particular loan, property, etc., such as its attorney
or accountant:
·
For
each contact, you can optionally maintain address, contact, telephone
numbers, fax numbers, email address, and other information.
·
Once
entered, a contact can then be linked as often as you wish. This lets
you easily identify all of the loans, for example, that are associated
with a particular contact or type of contact.
Note: the contact function has been designed so that it can easily be
expanded to other concepts, based on your organization’s specific
requirements.
Document and Image Management
This
sub-system allows you to maintain a library of images and documents, and
easily link them to loans, contacts, and other entities in the system.
You
can then access and view these using whatever software product is linked
to their file type in your system’s registry.
The
images can be digitized photos, maps, or scanned documents.
And
your libraries can be ones that you’ve created specifically for your BGI
application or ones that you share with other applications.
Notes
Tracking
This
sub-system allows you to record unlimited comments about a loan,
property, etc. on-line. As part of entering a note, you assign a topic
and can optionally enter the follow-up date on which further action is
expected.
In
addition, you can optionally link the note to a number of contacts so
that they will automatically be notified of its existence.
These notes can then be easily accessed by you and other people
associated.
Change
Control
This
sub-system supports the recording of change audit history when deletions
and changes occur.
Each
audit record includes who made the change, when he or she made it, the
before and after values of any field changed, and the function used.
You
decide how long each type of audit is retained in your system. And you
can access audit records through several inquiries, a report that
includes a number of selection criteria, and the BGI ReportWriter.
Online
Help
This
sub-system provides online help for BGI applications that you can
enhance with your organization's terminology and procedures.
ReportWriter
This
sub-system allows even the first time user to do the following within a
BGI application:
·
Select the data files and fields you wish to see.
·
Sequence the order of those fields across the report.
·
Sort
the records displayed in ascending or descending sequence.
·
Optionally define from/to and exclude from/to data ranges for each
field.
·
Select the fields on which you would like totals for each sort break.
·
Run
previously defined reports whenever you wish.
·
Add
a new report to an already existing, automated report schedule.
Each
report you create is protected so that only you (or a system
administrator with special security) can change your report.
Report
Scheduling
This
sub-system provides extensive support for the immediate or off-hours
processing of reports. These capabilities give you the following
options:
·
Running a report immediately.
·
Storing a one-time, ad-hoc request for a report that can be run later in
the day.
·
Or
storing a permanent request that can be run again and again as part of
an automated production schedule which you define (e.g. daily, weekly,
etc.).
System
Security
This
sub-system provides multi-level, pass-word controlled security that
determines which functions a user can access and whether he or she can
add, update, and delete, or just inquire.
User-Defined Fields
This
sub-system allows you to define your own fields within a BGI application
and then update and view them as you wish. All fields are accessible
via the BGI ReportWriter and an on-line inquiry.
LookupMaker
This
sub-system allows you create as many different types of lookups for a
loan or other system entity as you wish. For example, you can create
lookups for a loan using its property address, insurance policy number,
etc. The use of this function is optional. If not activated, the
original lookup functions within your BGI application will work as
before.
Please note that these same BGI sub-systems are also available for the
development of new financial applications.
