SQL Server Database

SQL Server is Microsoft’s relational database software.  It is an industry standard, the use of which allows you to more easily integrate third-party tools, such as report writers and Microsoft’s Office suite, to your data.

Benedict Group currently requires that your company use SQL Server 2005 or above to support our .Net applications.

VB.Net

VB.Net is one of several programming languages supported in Microsoft’s Visual Studio .Net environment.

This latest release of VB.Net is an object-oriented language, which allows us to more easily isolate application functionality in individual logic entities and helps ensure the integrity of our applications.

Microsoft Office

Microsoft’s well known Office suite of productivity tools includes Word and Excel.  BGI’s .Net applications allow you to easily integrate their data with these programs.  For example, you can export report and screen information to Excel and then use the power of that tool to analyze it further.

.Net Source Code

BGI offers the .Net source code to our applications under our Build, Buy, or BGI program, which allows you to license both our application and its source code.

As none or our key competitors include source code, we feel that our approach offers you a new alternative.  Previously you could either build your application in-house or depend on one of BGI's competitors for all of your software and enhancement needs.  With BGI's products, however, you now have a third choice:  you can license BGI's feature-rich software, receive support and upgrades from BGI, and yet still have the ability to make enhancements in-house as needed.

PriMetaFores

BGI’s new products are based on our PriMetaFores™ technology, an extensive set of development tools that represents our application logic (5 million+ lines of source code) as rules in a language-independent database, and from there renders them for a target environment such as Microsoft’s .Net and SQL Server technologies.  This technology makes change easier and safer, and helps ‘future-proof’ our applications for new, not-yet-defined platforms.
